Creative technology spaces within libraries are now increasingly common, especially within large academic libraries. And yet the services offered remain uniquely different from those in other library areas.

Dissatisfied with current organizations that offer only rudimentary guidance for staff of creative technologies spaces, ACTAL is a group created specifically to focus on these spaces in academic libraries; multimedia labs, makerspaces, data visualization and mixed reality, and other ways these spaces might arise.
