Call For Proposals

Present at ACTAL conferences virtually, in-person, or both! The Call for Proposals to both conferences is now open.

Virtual Conference

July 29-30, 2026
Host Institution: Appalachian State University

This two day conference is held approximately 1pm – 5pm EST and features more traditional presentation options.
Proposal Submission Details:

• Deadline: May 1st, 2026
• Notification of Acceptance: Early June 2026
• You are welcome to submit more than one proposal

Session Types:

• PROJECTion (2-3 minutes)
• Presentations (50 minutes)
• Presentations (30 minutes)

In-Person Conference

November 4-7, 2026
Host Institution: University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV)

This year we are excited to welcome you for two full days of conference.

We are gearing up for Vegas in November and are excited to announce new overarching themes for this year’s in-person conference:

• Hospitality / Behind the scenes: How do we welcome users into our spaces and engage them with our services once they are there? What work happens behind the scenes to make this possible?
• Art and Exhibition: Incredible things are made in all of our spaces. We want to celebrate the work happening in your spaces and engage in conversations about how we share this work out with others in meaningful ways.

Proposal Submission Details:

• Deadline: May 1st, 2026
• Notification of Acceptance: Late May/Early June 2026
• You are welcome to submit more than one proposal

Session Types:

• Presentation (50 minutes with 10 min Q&A)
• Hands-On Demonstration or Workshop (60 minutes)
• Stories from Behind the Scenes (5 minutes)
• Posters (in-person)
• Pre-coordinated Panel: Showcasing Our Work (10 to 15 minutes)
• Post-Conference Workshops (90 minutes or 180 minutes)

Optional workshops and field trips will be offered for Saturday. Join us for informal meetups and registration on Wednesday when you arrive! More details to follow.
